Your Best Christmas ever

Your Best Christmas EVER!

This holiday season,  I am praying God will give you a fresh revelation of His love for YOU—love that took Jesus from the glories of Heaven to a dusty stable in Bethlehem … to a Cross on a Jerusalem hillside … to the right hand of the Father’s throne in Heaven…so that you might spend eternity with Him!

When you hear “Joy to the World” sung in church services or shopping malls this Christmas season, remember that God not only wants to bring His joy and peace to the world—He wants to bring them to YOUR world. No matter what you may be going through, He wants you to know He is Immanuel, the God who will be with you through it all.

This Christmas season I wish we could sit across a coffee table and talk  about what’s really going on in your life. There’s a very personal question on my heart for you today …

What Would It Take to Make This Your Best Christmas Ever?

What comes to mind when I ask you that? Perhaps you would respond, “David, I really need a financial breakthrough this Christmas. Nothing would make me happier than that.” I’m sure others would say, “I’m crying out to God to heal my body or restore my family.”

Whatever your most pressing need is right now, remember this: Christmas is a time of blessings, and the Lord can heal situations you’ve been tempted to give up on.

So, dear friend, if God visibly appeared to you and asked you what you need from Him this Christmas, what would you say?

Jesus’ Incredible Question

Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus responding to people’s faith and persistence. One of my favorite stories is the account of how a blind man named Bartimaeus received his sight (Mark 10:46-52).

When he heard that Jesus was passing by, Bartimaeus began to cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (v. 47). People told him to be quiet, but Bartimaeus was desperate for a miracle, and he persisted in crying out to the Lord.

This is such a lesson for us. Too often, we let other people talk us out of our quest for a miracle from God. They sow doubt and discouragement, causing us to lose heart and give up.

Yet Bartimaeus refused to be deterred. Hearing his passionate cries, Jesus called him forward and asked him one of the most incredible questions in history:

“What do you want Me to do for you?” (v. 51).

Do you see how stunning this is? The Creator of the universe and Lord of Heaven and earth was asking a man to request whatever he wanted. It’s as if Bartimaeus was being given a blank check, with instructions to fill in the blanks with whatever He needed the Master to do for him.

What Do You Need Today?

Of course, the blind man knew exactly what he wanted—he wanted to receive his sight. In all likelihood, that’s not your need today. But this Christmas I’m convinced Jesus would ask you the same question …

So, what do you want Jesus to do for YOU?

I encourage you to take a few minutes to ponder how you would answer this probing question. Generalities won’t do. Be specific about the miracle you need from God.

The Bible says you don’t need to be anxious and stressed out this holiday season. Instead, Let your requests be made known to God.” When you do this, you’re promised that “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

So, what is it you need today, my friend? A healing in your body? A new job or a financial breakthrough? A restored relationship with your spouse or children? Deliverance from fear, depression, or loneliness?

Whatever your need may be, remember that you have a Heavenly Father who loves you and who keeps His promises. I am praying this will be the best Christmas you’ve ever had, full of God’s peace and joy in every area of your life!
