Our New Love Language

 After years of distance and pain, God restored Rudy’s marriage and gave him and his wife our new love language—one rooted in prayer, Scripture, and unconditional love. Their story is a powerful reminder that God can heal what feels broken beyond repair.

After 36 years of marriage and raising four children, Rudy and his wife were no longer close.

“Maybe we never really knew what love was,” Rudy admits with quiet honesty. “I thought love was fun, sex, and money. It was something I took it for granted. I didn’t realize how shallow my understanding really was until everything started to fall apart.”

Though they attended church regularly and lived morally upright lives, a silent drift had begun. Suspicion crept into Rudy’s heart, and conversations with his wife grew tense and brief. Convinced she had found someone else and unable to reach her emotionally, Rudy made the painful decision to move out.

Their separation widened the gulf between them. Their grown children were heartbroken, and though his wife denied any affair, she remained firm. “The Spirit says it’s not time for you to return,” she told him. Her words stung, but they also sent Rudy to his knees.

That’s when he began fasting, praying, and pressing into God like never before. He sought counsel from his church and cried out to the Lord through sleepless nights. But as the months dragged on, the silence from Heaven felt unbearable. “I felt betrayed by God,” he says. “I was doing everything I knew to do, but nothing was changing.”

From Brokenness to Breakthrough: How God Restored a Marriage

Then one night, everything shifted. Rudy watched a broadcast from Inspiration Ministries and felt something stir in his spirit. He sowed a financial seed and called the International Prayer Center for support. In that moment, a light broke through the fog.

“Like Jacob in the Bible, I realized, ‘Surely the Lord is in this place’ (Genesis 28:16). That moment changed everything.”

God hadn’t abandoned Rudy—He had been guiding him all along. “That moment woke me up,” Rudy says. “In my brokenness, God gave me peace and started shaping me into a new man. You don’t grow when you’re comfortable. Pain often becomes the pathway to purpose.”

As Rudy drew closer to God, he began to change from the inside out. The love he received from the Lord began flowing through him toward others—especially his wife. “God gave me a new love language to speak to her,” he says.

He started reading Scripture daily, letting God’s Word soften his heart. “I had never washed my wife with the Word. I didn’t hug her. We lived separate lives under the same roof. But now? We pray together. We encourage one another. We’ve become partners again—stronger, wiser, and more united in faith.”
