When 10-month-old Makaila was rushed to the hospital, her family was frightened. Fluid had filled her little lungs. Suddenly, a child who should have been crawling and laughing was lying in a hospital room, fighting for her life. Her great-grandmother, Catherine, knew the situation called for intense intercession and immediately called the Inspiration Prayer Center.

The Inspiration Prayer Center is our Christ-centered prayer ministry at Inspiration Ministries, where trained staff pray with people seeking healing, encouragement, salvation, provision, peace, and spiritual breakthrough. One of our prayer ministers quickly interceded, asking God to touch Makaila and bring His divine healing to this precious child.

Catherine later wrote, “As the prayer minister prayed, I felt much comfort and peace, knowing that God had heard our prayers, and little Makaila would receive healing.”

Within just three days, Catherine said Makaila was completely healed, bouncing and jumping on the hospital bed. The next day, she was released.

“Whenever I have a situation that needs prayer, I know I can call to ‘touch and agree’ with your team,” Catherine said. “Praise God!”

For Catherine, calling our prayer line was not just about receiving prayer. It was about being reminded that she was not standing alone.

The Joy of a New Beginning

Some of the most sacred moments in our ministry happen when a caller is ready to surrender their life to Jesus. Every salvation call is a reminder of the truth of John 3:16: God loves each person so much that He gave His Son so they could receive eternal life through Him.

When someone prays to receive Christ as Savior, our prayer ministers celebrate. At their desks, they ring a gold bell, and everyone claps—a simple but joyful reminder that heaven rejoices when one person turns to the Lord.

“It is one of the most rewarding experiences to be part of the beginning of a journey that you know is for eternity,” says Cyrus, a team member. “Surrendering to Christ is proof of the power of God’s Word. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that draws people, and it is our privilege to pray for them.”

Cyrus understands that prayer ministry requires a daily dependence on God’s Word and the Holy Spirit. As our team stays rooted in Scripture, we are better able to point partners back to God’s truth, comfort, hope, and peace.

Speaking God’s Word into Real Needs

Candy knows the weight of hearing desperate stories day after day. “My heart breaks when I hear what partners are going through,” she says. “But I remind them Jesus is at the right hand of the Father interceding for them. He hears and cares about everything in their lives and is able to bring healing and wholeness to their situation. I am not the one to carry that burden; I help them lay it at Jesus’ feet. There’s no way we could do this without the anointing of the Holy Spirit.”

When the Need Is Urgent

Sometimes a call comes in that is especially serious. When someone is in a life-and-death crisis, our prayer ministers respond quickly. If a caller is considering suicide, a minister raises a red flag at their desk.

“The flag alerts us that it’s a life and death situation,” Michael explains. “Everybody joins in praying when that kind of call comes in.”

In those moments, our team surrounds the situation in prayer. We support the caller and one another. We know the person on the line is deeply loved by God, and we hold fast to the hope of His Word—that His heart is for a future filled with hope, not harm (Jeremiah 29:11).

The work can be emotionally heavy. Some calls stay with our team long after the conversation ends. When someone has been drained by a difficult call, they may step away for a moment to pray, breathe, and be renewed. We do not carry the ministry alone; we serve and depend on the Lord together.

More Than a Job

We are praying with families we may never meet in person. We are standing in agreement with believers for breakthrough, restoration, provision, and peace.

“We get joy in knowing that we’re sharing the ministry of Jesus,” Dina says. “It’s like we’re joining hands with Jesus and connecting our partners to Him.”
