From Partying to Purpose: A Testimony of God’s Redemption and Healing

Kesha’s early life was messy and unpredictable—but like so many who are brokenhearted, she would later discover that “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18).

With a father who worked as a truck driver and was often away from home, Kesha grew up feeling unseen and unsettled.

Other painful circumstances only deepened her sense of instability, leaving her childhood marked by loneliness and confusion.

“I always felt like an outsider at home and at school,” Kesha shares. “I was desperately lonely and often misunderstood.”

That emotional pain shaped many of her choices. Although her mother had planted seeds of faith in her heart, Kesha went searching for identity and acceptance in places that could never truly satisfy. Instead of surrendering her life to Jesus, she turned to parties, unhealthy relationships, and decisions that brought temporary comfort but lasting consequences.

By the age of 15, Kesha was pregnant with her first child. At 17, she had her second. And between the ages of 18 and 23, she continued to ignore the quiet tug in her spirit—God gently calling her back to Himself. During that time, she fell in love with a man whose affection eventually turned into violent abuse.

One night, as the abuse escalated, something changed.

“That night, I felt every beating as if it were in slow motion,” she recalls. “I could clearly see the danger my kids and I were in.”

In that terrifying moment, Kesha remembered there was Someone who could help her—Someone who could rescue her and her children from the destructive path she was on. Desperate and afraid, she cried out to God. She knew she had to leave, even though she didn’t know how.

“I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears” (Psalm 34:4).

Finding the courage to walk away was one of the hardest decisions she had ever made.

“Even though I knew I needed to get away,” she says, “I felt lost without him at first.”

A Brand-New Life

What Kesha didn’t realize then was that God was already preparing a new beginning.

Just six months later, her childhood best friend, someone who had stood by her through her darkest moments, unexpectedly proposed. A loving, God-fearing man, he became a protector and provider not only for Kesha, but for her children as well. Through their relationship, God began restoring her heart and healing the deep wounds left by years of abuse.

“He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake” (Psalm 23:3).

Then came another powerful reminder of God’s saving grace.

One day, Kesha and her family were involved in a horrific car accident—one that could have ended in tragedy. Instead, every member of her family walked away without a single scratch.

In that moment, Kesha knew her life had been spared for a reason.

The Lord revealed a new calling in her heart: to use her story to help others find healing, identity, and hope in Him. Today, Kesha serves as a life coach, encouraging those who feel broken, overlooked, or trapped by their past.

“Everything I’ve done wrong, God is using for good,” she says. “It’s as if He’s taken all my mistakes and life lessons and placed them into a beautiful treasure chest. Now, when I help someone else, I can share those treasures so they know they’re not alone.”

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

What once brought shame now brings freedom—for her and for many others.

Getting Refilled and Refreshed

Knowing she must remain spiritually filled in order to pour into others, Kesha turns to Inspiration Ministries for encouragement, biblical teaching, and strength for the journey.
