From Childhood Traumas to Childlike Faith

Once bound by pain, Suzanne’s life was transformed by God’s grace into a story of healing, forgiveness, and unshakable hope.

Suzanne—generous and filled with dreams—longed for love and connection. But life’s unexpected turns can wound especially the tenderest of souls.

Growing up as one of 12 children, she became enraged when innocent sibling bickering spiraled into accusations. “Every time I returned home, I felt that anger swell,” she recalled. “I would hurl pots and pans, knowing deep down that this wasn’t the real me.”

At 17, Suzanne made a bold choice, setting her sights on California to help her family. She ventured across the country, chasing dreams while grappling with health struggles, mental health crises, and financial hardships.

Hospital stays and bouts of homelessness marked her journey. Clinging to her faith, she prayed the Lord’s Prayer inscribed on her cross necklace. “I couldn’t see how God’s power could heal my wounds or anger.”

Many years rolled by, and Suzanne’s life took a new turn when she stumbled upon Inspiration Ministries. As her faith deepened, prayer became her lifeline. During one prayer session, her knee was miraculously healed. “A 27-inch scar vanished! My doctor was speechless!”

Her faith blossomed as she locked arms with the International Prayer Center. “People began asking me to pray for them,” she said humbly.

Yet the shadows of her past lingered. One night, overwhelmed, she cried out, “God, please, I need You to change me before I hurt someone!” And in that moment, God met her. “A wave of peace washed over me. Despite battling schizophrenia and anxiety, the Holy Spirit began to drown out the fear, filling me with a newfound joy.”

As 2024 unfolded, Suzanne felt a stirring within her heart—a call to forgive those who had wounded her, including herself. “I repented and forgave everything,” she shared. “I trust that God will handle my burdens now. I sowed a seed with Inspiration Ministries for my family’s restoration, and God has done it! We are talking again.”

In October, she was baptized and joined her church’s homeless ministry. “I’m filled with joy and love; I finally understand this is who God made me to be. My fears have vanished, and I’ve been given a second chance at life.”

Suzanne’s story reminds us that even the deepest wounds can lead to a pure, childlike faith: “With God, all things are possible. He blesses you more than you could ever imagine.”
