A Knife Missed His Heart by One Inch: A Mother’s Testimony of God’s Protection

Sometimes the difference between life and death can be measured in inches. In this powerful testimony of God’s protection, one mother shares how prayer, faith, and trust in God carried her through a terrifying moment she will never forget.

 

A Prompting She Couldn’t Ignore

Rose was watching Campmeeting when she heard a teaching about the Feast of Passover. As she listened, she sensed a strong prompting in her heart to respond by sowing a Passover seed into Inspiration Ministries that very day.

She didn’t wait or overthink it. She went straight to the post office and mailed her offering.

To Rose, it was simply an act of obedience—one small step of faith in response to what she believed God was asking her to do.

But she had no idea how much that day would change.

An Unsettling Moment

Later on when Rose returned home, something didn’t feel quite right.

“My son was just about to leave the house,” she recalls. “I felt some uneasiness about him leaving and advised him to be careful. But I had no idea why I’d said this, and he looked at me a little puzzled as he left.”

Still unsettled, she sat down on the sofa and eventually drifted off to sleep. When she woke up and checked her phone, she saw a message that made her heart stop.

“Your son has been stabbed, and he’s at the hospital!”

Choosing Faith in a Terrifying Moment

In that moment, fear rushed in—but Rose says her first instinct was to pray. She immediately began declaring the promise of Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.”

As she rushed to the hospital, she called family members and friends, asking them to pray and stand with her in faith.

What she walked into was every mother’s nightmare.

“When I arrived at the hospital, my son was in intensive care,” Rose reports. “Blood was pouring out of him, and three doctors were running around yelling, ‘He’s losing blood!’ They said he probably wouldn’t survive, but I kept praying and declaring that my son would live and not die!”

One Inch From the Heart

Only later did Rose learn just how close she had come to losing her son. The knife had missed his heart by only an inch.

Against the doctors’ expectations, he survived the attack. Within five days he was released from the hospital, and today he is fully healed and living a normal life with no lasting complications.

Looking back, Rose believes that day was marked by God’s protection and faithfulness.

“I’m convinced this miracle occurred because of the Passover Seed I had sown into your ministry that same day!” Rose declares. “In Exodus 23, one of the specific blessings of observing the Feast of Passover is God’s protection, and He was true to His Word, protecting my son from death!”

A Heart Full of Gratitude

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Rose later wrote to Inspiration Ministries to share her story.

“Thank you for obeying God to broadcast your Passover teaching at the perfect time!”

Her testimony is a powerful reminder that even in life’s most frightening moments, we can turn to God and trust His promises.

Standing on God’s Promises

When crisis struck, Rose turned to God’s Word and to prayer. Anchoring her faith in Scripture helped her face one of the darkest moments a parent can experience.

Stories like hers remind us that God invites His people to bring every fear and need to Him. His promises give us something solid to stand on when life suddenly feels uncertain.

At the same time, every believer knows that life doesn’t always unfold the way we hope. There are moments when prayers seem unanswered and circumstances remain painfully difficult. Yet even in those seasons, Scripture assures us that God’s love and faithfulness never change.

For Rose, that terrifying day became a powerful reminder that turning to God in faith matters—that prayer, obedience, and trust are never wasted. In the middle of fear, she chose to stand on God’s promises and place her son in His hands.

Her story is a testimony of God’s protection, but it reminds us that in every circumstance, we can trust the One who sees, cares, and remains faithful.
