Tormented No More!

Shirley fought a lonely battle against tormenting thoughts, but everything changed when she called our International Prayer Center for help.

From the outside, Shirley appeared to be a steady Christian woman, but behind closed doors, she was plagued by daily anxiety attacks and crippling fear. The uneasiness in her stomach often lingered for hours, and her intrusive thoughts grew more overwhelming each day. Eventually, she reached her breaking point, feeling utterly alone in her struggle.

“One Friday afternoon, I came home from work after battling negative thoughts all week,” Shirley recalls. “Fear and anxiety gripped every part of my life.”

Sitting in her living room, drowning in thoughts of failure and hopelessness, Shirley realized the enemy was attacking her mind. Desperate for relief, she resolved, I can’t go on like this. I must do something to turn things around.

Shirley’s Cry for Help

In that moment, Shirley remembered the International Prayer Center at Inspiration Ministries and decided to call for prayer. When a kind prayer minister answered, Shirley hesitated, unsure she could articulate her struggles.

To her surprise, the woman quickly understood. “She grasped exactly what I was trying to explain, even though I must have sounded crazy!” Shirley says. “It was such a relief to feel heard. She was a Godsend!”

The prayer minister prayed with her, claiming God’s promises and guiding Shirley to put on the full armor of God from Ephesians 6. “She helped me hide under the Lord’s covering for protection from the enemy’s fiery darts,” said Shirley.

A Transformed Life

Immediately, Shirley felt lighter. “The anxiety lifted, and when I woke up the next day, I knew something had changed,” she says.

Since that day, Shirley has learned to combat troubling thoughts and renew her mind with God’s Word. One verse she clings to is Isaiah 54:17:

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord (NKJV).

Her anxiety attacks are gone, and she continues to grow stronger. “I’m amazed at the consistent improvement in my life,” Shirley says gratefully. “Since that phone call, I’ve been set free from torment and now know how to stand firm in God’s protection!”

Thanks to the Lord’s grace, Shirley’s life has been transformed. “Thank you, Inspiration Ministries, for praying with me. God has truly set me free!”
