Trusting God with the outcome can be hard...especially when nothing seems to make sense.

Miracles in Tough Times: Trusting God with the Outcome

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries4 Minutes

What does it really mean to practice trusting God with the outcome—especially when obedience feels costly? Ozetta’s story isn’t about perfect timing or guaranteed results. It’s about listening for God’s voice, stepping forward in faith when the numbers don’t add up, and believing that He is faithful even before the breakthrough comes.

Sometimes obedience feels riskier than disobedience.

More than a decade ago, Ozetta sensed God prompting her in a way that challenged everything she understood about stability and success. As an IT professional earning a strong salary—more than her husband—she never imagined she would feel led to step away from her career.

This wasn’t a universal calling for all women or families. It was personal and specific—a quiet conviction she couldn’t ignore.

“I heard Him tell me, ‘Your job is in the home.’”

It didn’t make financial sense. It didn’t feel practical. But the prompting lingered. Psalm 32:8 promises:

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

Ozetta believed God was guiding her. The question was whether she would trust Him with the outcome.

Obedience Before Understanding

When she finally obeyed and left her job, the financial impact was immediate. The family lost their car. They filed bankruptcy to keep their home. The pressure strained their marriage.

“It was hard,” she admits. “But God was so present and clear about what to do.”

Trusting God didn’t mean avoiding hardship. It meant believing He was leading her through it.

During this season, Ozetta connected with an Inspiration Ministries message that reminded her of God’s faithfulness. As an act of trust, she chose to sow a financial seed. She anchored her heart in Psalm 66:12:

We went through fire and water, but You brought us to a place of abundance.

Leaning Into God’s Voice

Over time, blessing followed faith and obedience. God provided a home well below market value. Both of their children received full-tuition college scholarships. A lingering back-tax issue connected to her mother’s estate was resolved.

But the greater miracle, Ozetta says, was learning to recognize and obey God’s voice. She shares three principles that carried her through:

  • Be a faithful steward of what God entrusts to you.
  • Pray God’s Word back to Him.
  • Speak victory—even in the middle of the trial.

Her story isn’t about a formula. It’s about trust. God may not call everyone to make the same decision Ozetta did. But He does call each of us to listen—and to obey—when He speaks.

The seedtime and harvest principle begins not with money, but with surrender. When we trust God with the outcome, He proves faithful in His own way and timing.

Trust God with Your Next Step.
As you listen for His voice, consider sowing a seed to help share the hope of Christ with others.
