Spend Time in His Presence

Spend Time in God’s Presence and Find Strength in Prayer

Ben CerulloBy Ben Cerullo7 Minutes

If you’re searching for a breakthrough in some area of your life today, God’s throne room is the place to find it.

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).

Are you in a “time of need” right now? We ALL are, in one way or another.

And this verse tells us exactly what to do in order to find the breakthrough we need: Come boldly into God’s throne room, and tell Him we need His help!

But don’t miss this. God does not tell you to come timidly. He does not tell you to stand far off, hoping He notices you. Because of Jesus, your great High Priest, you can come with confidence.

Jesus knows your weakness. He understands your battle. He has already opened the way into the Father’s presence through His death and resurrection. You don’t have to hide from God. You don’t have to pretend you have everything together. You don’t have to wait until you feel worthy.

Come now. Come boldly. Come in faith.

At His throne, you will receive mercy for your failures and grace for your need.

Be Still Before God

I know life is busy for most of us. There never seems to be enough time, money, or breaks from life’s pressures. Yet in the midst of all the turmoil and noise of our lives, God is whispering to us, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

That is not just a call to be quiet. It is a command to stop striving and remember who He is.

He is not shaken by the news. He is not confused by your circumstances. He is not surprised by the battle you are facing. He is God—faithful, holy, powerful, and near.

When was the last time you got alone with God? How long has it been since you removed the distractions, turned off the noise around you, and listened for the voice of the Holy Spirit?

The Lord waits for you to share your dreams, concerns, and fears with Him. He is not far off. He is right there, waiting to meet your deepest needs.

“In your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11).

Friend, that is what happens when you spend time in God’s presence. You stop running on empty. You begin receiving the mercy, grace, wisdom, peace, and strength only He can give.

Open His Word and Listen

So get alone, and quiet your soul. As you meditate on Him and open His ageless Book, you will hear His gentle words of affirmation and instruction.

God’s Word does more than inform you. It changes you.

When you spend time in Scripture, the Holy Spirit uses the truth of God to strengthen your faith, expose fear, correct your path, and anchor your heart. His truths will no longer be mere head knowledge—they will be written on your heart.

Friend, time alone with God is never wasted time. It is where battles are won, hearts are healed, and strength is renewed.

You may not see everything change in a day. But keep coming. Keep praying. Keep opening His Word.

Every moment in His presence is a seed planted in your heart. Keep sowing that seed in faith and trust God to bring the increase.

Gaining New Strength

The Bible teaches that God Himself is the source of mercy, wisdom, strength, peace, and provision for every need.

“The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing” (Psalm 34:10).

As you tell Him of your joys, hopes, and desires, you’ll receive His answers to the questions that once paralyzed you with indecision. He will calm your fears, give you His perspective, and fill you with peace and rest—even when the world is going crazy all around you.

That doesn’t mean every battle ends overnight. But it does mean you are never facing the battle alone.

The Shepherd of your soul is leading you. The Father who loves you is caring for you. The Spirit of God is strengthening you from within.

As you wait on the Lord, you will gain new strength and soar above life’s storms like an eagle.

“But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

Waiting on the Lord doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means fixing your eyes on Him until His strength becomes greater than your fear.

Even more important, your heart will become one with His.

Your Good Shepherd Is Near

Friend, your Good Shepherd has promised to lead you beside still waters, give you rest in green pastures, and restore your soul (Psalm 23) as you spend time alone with Him each day.

That promise is personal. The Lord does not merely send help from far away. He shepherds you. He leads you. He restores you. He walks with you through the valley.

Then, even on the day of battle, you can stand in the victory and love of Christ, knowing that no trial, accusation, or enemy can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:31–39).

So don’t let anything stop you from finding your place of prayer.

Come when you are weary. Come when you are uncertain. Come when you have failed. Come when you need wisdom. Come when you need mercy. Come when you need strength.

The door to God’s throne room is open wide!
