Delivering God’s Letter

When you write a letter or send a card to a friend or family member, you place it in the hands of the post office, trusting that they’ll deliver it to the address you’ve written on the envelope. Likewise, when you send an email or a virtual card to a friend or family member, you must entrust the Internet to deliver it to the email address you’ve specified.

The words you wrote or keyed in were most likely written with a purpose, and what a great disappointment it would be if the letter, card, or email never arrived. In the same way, God has a “letter” to be delivered to the world, and He’s entrusted us with His Word and the Gospel message it contains.

Like the postal carrier or the Internet, we must be faithful to deliver the good news about Jesus to the world. This is not an option for us. We must always be ready to share the Gospel, “in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2).

The Lord doesn’t say, “If you remember, let your friends know who I am.”

He doesn’t say, “If you get around to it, I’d appreciate you telling your family about My Son Jesus and all He’s done for them.”

He doesn’t ask, “If it doesn’t make you too uncomfortable, would you share the Gospel with your co-workers?”

No, He makes it very clear that we are to go and make disciples of all nations. Don’t let His Word gather dust like a lost letter in a post office. It’s time to deliver the message that you’ve been entrusted with.
