Anchored to Your Living Hope

Anchored to Your Living Hope

In a world facing uncertain times, God’s people need to be anchored to His hope and faithfulness more than ever. We all want to know that everything is going to be OK, but sometimes that’s easier said than done. Hope can be difficult to find when life seems to be caving in and all hell is breaking out around you.

The Bible says there will come a day when everything that can be shaken will be shaken, so “the things which cannot be shaken may remain” (Hebrews 12:27-28). I believe we are experiencing that shaking today, and it’s only just beginning.

So what does this mean for us? It means we must find God’s hope amid the chaos and uncertainty of the times. We need to be able to say as David did, “I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8). This means hope must be more than a nice theory—it must be reality for us.

The good news is that hope is alive! The Bible reveals that Jesus is hope for the hopeless. He’s our strength and confidence, our Rock in times of trouble. Although He never said life would be easy, He gave us this great promise: “Trusting Me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world” (John 16:33 MSG).

My friend, Jesus has already overcome the enemy and provided His Word as a faithful anchor for us when the storms of life come. The Bible says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

I’ve found that when I take my eyes off my needs and focus on how awesome and powerful God is, my troubles disappear in His presence. That’s why I’m so confident that whatever problem you may be facing today, it pales in comparison to the majesty of your Heavenly Father.

So make a choice to stop looking at the “mountain” you face and start looking at Jesus. Stay focused on who He is, and stand on His Word no matter what you see happening around you.

Ask the Lord to give you a new perspective, showing you who He is and who you are in Him. Your Father is the Creator of the universe, and you are His workmanship, His child, and the love of His life.

My prayer for you today is this: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).
Remember: When your eyes are fixed on Him, your hope will always be alive and indestructible!
