Inspire Joy with Will Kassner and When the World Wakes Up

Will Kassner, along with his wife Courtney, is the co-owner and co-creator of Crew + Co., a small faith-based business that focuses on encouraging and colorful family devotional products. They live in north Mississippi, and their three children, Crew, Grey, and Sutton, were the inspiration to start their business in 2015. When not at work, Will and Courtney love being outdoors with the kids, growing wildflowers, and camping.

In February 2023, B&H Kids published the couple’s first children’s book, When the World Wakes Up. The inspiration for the book came from an early-morning Thanksgiving Day deer hunt Will took Crew and Grey (5 and 3.5 at the time, respectively) on. While they were sitting in the deer stand, the young boys were wide-eyed as they watched nature wake up before their eyes. At first, there was a little bit of gray light before the sun began to peek over the trees and the different birds started singing. There were ducks flying overhead, squirrels going about their business, deer minding their own business, and a bunch of other wildlife waking to a brand-new day. It was mystical and in Will’s own words, “write-down worthy.” Later that day, on their way home, Will started writing the beginning of what would become When the World Wakes Up in his head.
