“He did good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness” (Acts 14:17).

Spring, traditionally, is a time of hope. It also is a time of transition when winter’s cold ends, and it will soon be time to celebrate the warmth of summer. Spring is the time when farmers prepare the soil and sow their seeds. Spring becomes a time of waiting—a reminder of the importance of God’s eternal calendar.

The Bible calls attention to the significance of seasons. In the very beginning, we read that God said that the “lights in the expanse of the heavens” were to be “for signs and for seasons, and for days and years” (Genesis 1:14), and God “made the moon to mark the seasons” (Psalm 104:19).

Seasons are also important for our spiritual lives. If we want God’s full blessings, we need to live according to His calendar. As we obey Him, He’ll give us “rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit” (Leviticus 26:4).

The Bible tells us, “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven … a time to plant and a time to harvest” (Ecclesiastes 3:1–2 NLT).

Be sensitive to God’s calendar. He promised that you will reap a harvest … but first, you must plant seeds into His Kingdom. He’ll send rain to water the seeds you’ve faithfully sown and bring you into “fruitful seasons” of harvest!
