Lifted by the Spirit

Ezekiel had a revelation made possible by the work of the Holy Spirit. He experienced one of the unique ways the Spirit can impact our lives.

This spiritual dimension can sound like fantasy to nonbelievers. The fact is that the things of the Spirit are “foolishness” to those without the Spirit. These spiritual truths “are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14). Our natural minds and hearts cannot understand these insights. In fact, our flesh wars against the Spirit in us.

In reality, we cannot even enter God’s kingdom without the Spirit (John 3:5). People in the world may focus on the flesh without realizing that the flesh doesn’t really profit at all. In contrast, the Spirit gives us real life (John 6:63). He guides us into all truth (John 16:33) and fills us with unimagined power (Acts 1:8). He can lift us up, give us new insights, encourage us, motivate us, and guide us.

The Bible reminds us that God wants us to be sensitive to His Spirit. He wants to give us new revelations, to teach us new things, and to give us more of His power and wisdom. He wants to help us be more like Jesus and accomplish His purposes.

Ask God to help you be more sensitive to the Spirit and to enter the reality of His spiritual dimension. Be ready to follow His leading and be changed.
