Hardworking Farmers

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

The life of a farmer can be tough. Facing many unknowns, they must operate in faith, with discipline preparing the soil, eliminating weeds, planting seeds, and providing necessary nourishment.

Yet farmers have an opportunity to determine their attitude, and how they implement the resources at their disposal, and what effort they will give to their work. Some may be more passive or put in a minimal effort. Others might demonstrate more initiative, try to be better prepared, and stay determined to generate the maximum results.

It is this “hard-working farmer” who Paul said should “be the first to receive his share of the crops.” And all farmers need to remember that they will “reap what they sow” (Galatians 6:7). We see this same principle in the parable of the talents. It was the man who put his “talents” to work who received the rewards, while the man who buried his talent lost what was given to him, and was called wicked and lazy (Matthew 25:17-30).

The Bible promises that God wants you to Reap a Harvest of blessings and have victory. To experience the fullness of His Spirit, and be free from fear, worry, and burdens. But you have a role to play.

To experience this fullness, you need to be like a hardworking farmer. This means being a good steward of the resources He has given you. Cultivating your gifts and talents. Being faithful and diligent. Always remembering that you will Reap what you Sow.

Today, actively plant the “Seeds” you have been given. Tirelessly commit yourself to God’s Kingdom. Diligently spend time in His Word. Give to the work of the Gospel. Pray with intensity. And seek to know God more intimately.

The more you are like the hardworking farmer, the greater the Harvest you will receive.
