Firm, Established, and Reliable

What influences your attitude toward life? Are you an optimist? A pessimist? Are you hopeful or discouraged? If you dwell on the latest news, you might find yourself filled with uncertainty. Your spirits can rise and fall based on the latest rumors.

In the midst of the inconstant and ever-changing circumstances of life, how refreshing to confess the truths of Psalm 95. Here, the Bible tells us simply that “the Lord reigns.” We may not always see this condition, but the Bible reminds us that we only “see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror” (1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT).

But God sees everything perfectly. In fact, He already has declared “the end from the beginning” (Isaiah 46:10). He is never worried. His plans are sure. And He is worthy of all praise.

We all can be sure to experience ups and down in our lives. But, no matter what happens in the world, we can trust in God. As the psalmist wrote, “Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.”

The psalmist declared his confidence in God because “Your testimonies are fully confirmed.” He remembered the countless examples throughout time. How God has proven faithful. And we can know that He is holy and that it is impossible for Him to lie (Hebrews 6:18).

Today, make sure that you trust in God. That you focus on Him. Make Him your Rock. Your Fortress. Your Strong Tower. Declare His promises to be true for you. Dedicate your life to Him. Serve Him. Have faith in Him. Praise Him.
