Feeling Pressure

Feeling Pressure

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

Facing various pressures, the psalmist had learned how to respond. The answer? Turn to God’s Word. There, he found joy. His whole attitude changed. Reminded of God’s promises, his strength was renewed.

Developing similar conclusions, Paul realized the miracle that, because of Jesus, believers have been changed. “Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Believers may be changed yet still face challenges. We may be born again but still “are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure” (2 Corinthians 4:7). We may feel weak and inadequate, but this is why we must trust in God and gain strength from Him.

Paul taught us to respond when we feel felt “pressed on every side by troubles.” We might feel “hunted down” but can be confident that God never abandons us. We may “get knocked down,” but He can help us get back up (2 Corinthians 4:9).

Paul reminded us that we must never give up but realize that God is at work. Our troubles can seem overwhelming, but in reality, they “are small and won’t last very long.” Pressures can produce results that “will last forever” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

If you experience stress, learn from the truths discovered by Paul and the psalmist. Turn to God. Stand on His Word. Declare His promises to be true. Trust Him, confident that He will bring you through and give you the strength you need.
