Depending on God

On our life journey, we do the right things at times. But at other times, we fall short. We sin or make mistakes.

Even the apostle Paul admitted that he didn’t always do the right thing. While desiring to do what was right, he failed sometimes and made mistakes. He sensed a war being waged inside his mind. But these struggles helped him realize why he needed to turn to God.

In the battles that rage inside us, we experience victory as we surrender our lives to Jesus and make Him our Lord. As we are filled with the Spirit, depend on Him, and accept God’s forgiveness, we defeat Satan.

If you make a mistake, don’t give up or be discouraged. The Bible reminds us that we aren’t perfect just because we are Christians. We all make mistakes. And we all experience temptations and fall short.

God can help us live in victory. But we can’t win this battle on our own. We need to “be strong in the Lord” and put on “all of God’s armor” (Ephesians 6:10-11). We need to be filled with the Spirit and draw on His strength.

Seek to draw closer to God. Humble yourself before Him. Ask Him to equip you with His power and protect you. If you fall short or make mistakes, turn to Him. Accept His forgiveness. Let Him direct your steps toward victory.
