Constant in Prayer

Constant in Prayer

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries1 Minutes

Jeremiah Lanphier’s dedication to prayer helped lead to the revival of 1857 that swept throughout the US. But this dedication came only after he totally surrendered himself to God.

Lanphier struggled with a burden for a long time until he finally dedicated himself to pray for this project. God answered these prayers, and tens of thousands of lives were impacted.

Paul wrote that we are to “be constant in prayer.” Prayer should be a priority. God does not force us to pray or set limits about how often we pray. Those decisions are up to each of us. We also can determine what, when, and where we will pray. But we also should be open to His leading to pray about the burdens He gives us.

Many people think we pray only in the morning or night, before meals, during church services, or when we are in trouble. But the Bible calls us to be devoted to prayer. We are to continue in an attitude of prayer throughout the day, pray all the time, persevere in prayer, and not faint.

Today, remember that prayer is a privilege God has given you. It’s also a responsibility. You have His invitation to pray and seek Him. This is His command! Through prayer, you can help change the world, influence lives, and meet needs.

You have the opportunity right now. Pray. And make prayer a priority.
