Trading Despair for Delight: A Family’s Journey from Struggle to Supernatural Breakthrough

What began as a desperate search for healing became a story of faith, obedience, and God’s miraculous provision. In their darkest moment, Henry and Bukola discovered that God’s power and love can shine brightest in the middle of the storm.

Looking for Solutions

When Henry and Bukola moved from Nigeria to the United States, they carried one hope in their hearts—that American doctors could find a cure for their six-year-old son’s chronic asthma. Little Ade loved playing soccer, but his severe condition made every breath a battle.

To their disappointment, the doctors had no answers. “They just recommended more breathing medications for Ade,” the couple recalls. “Without a steady job, our finances were very low, and we wondered if we had made a great mistake by coming here.”

What had started as a journey of hope began to feel like a wilderness of discouragement. But even in their uncertainty, God was preparing a turning point.

A Step of Faith That Changed Everything

One afternoon, Henry and Bukola tuned in to Inspiration Ministries’ Uncommon Harvest special. As they listened to stories of how God rewards obedience and faith, something stirred in their hearts. Though their resources were scarce, they felt prompted to plant a financial seed into the Kingdom.

Bukola turned to her husband and said, “We cannot do this … but we must do this!”

That small act became the seed that unlocked abundance. Within weeks, doors began to open. A local sports organization offered Henry his dream job—training young soccer players. It was an answer that met both his passion and their financial need.

A Miracle of Healing

Then came a breakthrough that could only be described as divine.

“We sensed the Lord telling us to throw away all of our son’s inhalers and medications,” Henry says. “Since that day, Ade needs no medications at all! He’s a great soccer player and represented his school in a mile run this year. Praise Jesus!”

The boy who once struggled to breathe now runs freely—a living testimony of God’s healing power and faithfulness.

Grateful and Blessed

Looking back, Henry and Bukola see how God transformed their despair into delight. Their faith journey didn’t just bring healing and provision—it brought them closer to the heart of God.
