She became a mom at just 15 and later raised four daughters on her own. Survival wasn’t guaranteed—especially in the rough neighborhood where she and her girls lived.

Gunshots were common. Fear was constant. Every day, she prayed that God would keep her daughters safe.

Then one evening, Jannie came across an Inspiration Ministries Campmeeting broadcast. Drawn to the message, she dialed the number for our International Prayer Center. That call marked the beginning of a spiritual partnership—and a lifeline. Together with our prayer ministers, Jannie began lifting up her daughters’ safety to the Lord.

The Night God Answered in a Miracle

And then came the night that everything changed.

At 4:00 a.m., Jannie awoke with a sudden nudge in her spirit. She felt God urging her to go downstairs. As she reached the kitchen, the phone rang.

Her heart sank.

No one calls this early with good news, she thought.

On the other end was her daughter Rosetta’s husband. His voice was shaking.

“Ms. Jannie,” he said, “Rosetta’s been shot in the head. You need to come to the hospital right away.”

Her world tilted. Her knees gave out. But through the rising panic, Jannie clung to something deeper—the prayers she had prayed. The promises she had claimed. The God who had always been faithful.

At the hospital, she braced for the worst. But when she saw the doctor, he looked stunned.

“It’s a miracle,” he said. “Rosetta’s going to be just fine. The bullet didn’t damage anything vital. It passed through cleanly. She only needed a few stitches. She’s ready to go home.”

Jannie was speechless. The bullet that should have ended her daughter’s life hadn’t even left lasting harm.

With tears streaming down her face, Jannie hugged Rosetta tightly and whispered a prayer of thanks. “The Lord has faithfully kept my daughters alive,” she says, still in awe.
