Your Season of More!

God has appointed times when He pours out His blessing in unique ways, and the Feast of Tabernacles is one of them. This could be your season of more—a time of double portion, fresh faith, and breakthrough.
No need to settle for less … your double portion is coming.
There’s something about this time of year that makes me stop and reflect. The air shifts, the days shorten, and creation seems to take a breath. Autumn carries a quiet invitation—a reminder to slow down a little and remember that God works in seasons.
And tucked within this season is one of His appointed times: the Feast of Tabernacles.
Maybe you didn’t grow up hearing much about it. That’s okay. It’s one of those biblical feasts that sometimes slips under the radar. But in God’s eyes, this celebration shines with promise. It’s a season when God’s people would gather in joy, build temporary shelters, and remember how He dwelled among them in the wilderness.
And more than that—it’s a picture of how He still chooses to dwell with us today. He’s not a distant deity. He’s the God who sets up camp right in the middle of our mess, reminding us that even the wilderness holds His glory.
But there’s something else tied to this feast. A promise. A powerful one.
God doesn’t just show up during Tabernacles—He pours out. A double portion. Not a drizzle. Not a trickle. A full-blown, open-Heaven, double-blessing downpour. The kind of outpouring that drenches the dry places of our souls and soaks even the seeds we forgot we planted. It’s more than provision—it’s personal. It’s a reminder that God sees, remembers, and responds.
Maybe that sounds too good to be true. But listen to what the prophet Joel declared:
Be glad then, you children of Zion … For He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you—the former rain and the latter rain in the first month (Joel 2:23 NKJV).
Did you catch that? Both rains—early and late—in the same season. That’s God’s way of saying I haven’t forgotten you. I haven’t missed your faithfulness. I’m not just going to restore what was lost, I’m going to do more than you ever imagined. I’m going to redeem the years and rewrite the ending.
The Parable That Unlocks the Promise
Jesus told a story once that gets right to the heart of this truth.
It’s the Parable of the Talents, tucked into Matthew 25. A master goes on a journey and leaves his wealth in the care of three servants. One gets five bags of silver. Another gets two. The last gets one.
We might expect Jesus to make things fair. Equal distribution. Level playing field. But that’s not what He does. And that’s not how life works, is it?
Some of us start with more. Some with less. But in the end, this story isn’t about what you were given—it’s about what you do with it.
The first two servants took what they received and got to work. They took some risks, invested, and moved forward. And the outcome? A double portion return. Faith partnered with action produced multiplication.
But the third servant?
He took what he had and buried it. No faith. No movement. Just fear. “I was afraid,” he admitted. “So I hid your money in the ground.”
What a heartbreaking confession.
Not because he failed, but because he never even tried. The servant saw his one bag not as an opportunity but as a liability. Instead of trusting, he focused more on what could go wrong than what God could make go right. In the end, he misunderstood the nature of the Master—believing him to be harsh when he was actually generous.
Faith That Unlocks the Floodgates
Can I ask you something personal? What are you doing with the portion God has given you?
Maybe you’re not the five-bag person. Maybe you’ve always felt like the one-bag servant in a five-bag world. You watch others start ministries, build businesses, raise strong families—and you wonder if God skipped over you.
But what if He hasn’t? What if the very thing you see as small is exactly what God is ready to double?
Here’s the beautiful truth: God doesn’t bless based on portion size—He blesses based on faith. He blesses action. He blesses obedience.
The first two servants weren’t commended for being successful—they were commended for being faithful. “Well done, good and faithful servant,” the master said. “You’ve been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things” (vs. 21, 23 NKJV).
Not “good and talented.” Not “good and lucky.” But “good and faithful.”
Faithful with the job you didn’t ask for, with the child who doesn’t always listen, with the dream that hasn’t yet bloomed, and with the tiny seed you’re tempted to ignore.
That kind of faith catches Heaven’s attention.
Fear Doesn’t Deserve the Final Word
The tragedy of the third servant wasn’t just the missed opportunity—it was the misjudgment of his master’s heart. He saw him as harsh. Demanding. Unfair. Sadly, too many people view God this same way. But the God I know? He’s generous. Kind. More willing to bless than we dare to believe.
Fear tells you that if you step out, you’ll lose what little you have. Faith says, “Go ahead. Sow. Trust. God is already preparing the increase.”
Don’t let fear drive your story. Let trust write the next chapter. The surest way to multiply your portion is to give God the portion you already have. Even if it feels small. Even if it looks insignificant. Little in your hands becomes much in His.
Your Double Portion Starts Here
The Feast of Tabernacles is a picture of God’s desire to bless—and to dwell. It’s about rain from Heaven, but also His presence on earth. It’s about breakthrough. Provision. Restoration. It’s about the tents we build in our hearts and homes to say, “God, You are welcome here.”
Could this be your month of divine reversal? A month where what’s been dry begins to flow again? A season where the one bag in your hand becomes two—and maybe even three!
I believe it could be. Not because of anything magical about the calendar—but because of the God who keeps His promises.
“Return to Me,” He says, “and I will return to you. Bring the whole tithe, and see if I don’t throw open the floodgates of heaven” (Malachi 3).
That’s not poetic license. That’s a divine guarantee.
An Invitation to Step Forward
This month when you give, I’d love to send you The Miracle of the Oil: Receive the Power of God’s Anointing by Joshua Mills, a beautiful book about the power of God’s anointing and what it means for your life today. It’s a reminder that His Spirit still flows with healing, purpose, and supernatural strength.

Friend, you don’t need to wait for perfect conditions. You don’t need to bury what you’ve been given. And you certainly don’t need to live another day believing that a double portion is for someone else but not for you.
The Master is calling. The rain is coming. And the only thing He’s asking for is your faith.
Take the step. Trust His heart. And watch what He can do.
God bless you!
