You Say You Want a Revelation

But how do you know God can do the same thing in your life? How do you know He will bless you and cause you to live in victory?

Because of what the Lord reminds us in His Word. Just look at what Peter wrote to the early church:

“His divine power has given to us ALL things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises” (2 Peter 1:3-4).

Do you see what power these words have? God gave us all things to live our life in godly abundance and blessing. Although we may complain about what we seem to lack, just like the early Christians, God assures us that “ALL things” are ours!

Likewise, in the book of Ephesians, Paul points out the incredible spiritual riches with which God blesses us:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).

See the faith behind what Paul’s saying here. He’s saying that as God’s children, we are given vast spiritual blessings that comprise our inheritance in Heaven.

That means we have the authority to believe our Father for bigger and better things. We have the right to expect God’s blessing in our lives, but first we have to maximize the full capacity of our faith. We have to expand our vision so that we can understand and believe God for everything He has for us.

Paul knew it would take God’s supernatural revelation of His goodness and power for us to grasp our full potential. That’s why he prayed so earnestly for God to expand our understanding and break free from the barriers of our faith:

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all (Ephesians 1:17-23).

Hallelujah! That’s quite an inheritance from God. Don’t you agree? Taking this passage phrase by phrase, we can see some amazing truths:

In order to understand what your true blessings are, you will need to expand your vision through the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him” (v. 17).

In a world often filled with discouragement, God wants you to have a revelation of “the hope of His calling” and “the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints” (v. 18).

God’s “power toward us who believe” is exceedingly great, because it’s the same mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead” (v. 19-20). The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead now lives in us (Romans 8:11)!

Not only is JESUS reigning “far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named,” but God has given that same authority to us as “His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1:21-23).
