You Have Everything You Need

You Have Everything You Need

Are you living with the confidence that you have everything you need through Christ? This excerpt reveals how God’s provision is already in place for every challenge you face.

What would life be like if you experienced the full effect of God’s accelerated impact upon each minute of every day you live?

The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 1:3 that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness—that is, everything we need to live in the flow of God’s favor. This is made especially clear in the Amplified Bible’s translation of this verse: “for His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.”

What do you need today? Do you need peace of mind? It’s “already” provided.

Do you need a financial miracle? It’s “already” provided.

Do you need a divine intervention of God’s power in your life? It’s “already” provided.

How do you explain how Abraham found a ram in the bush just before he was to sacrifice Isaac? It was the “already” factor at work (see Genesis 22:11–14).

What accounts for the coin Peter found in the mouth of the fish at tax-paying time? It was the “already” factor (see Matthew 17:24–27).

It was the “already” factor that Elisha’s servant discovered when his spiritual eyes were opened in Dothan one day. Once his spiritual perception was activated, he saw that the angels of God had “already” surrounded the enemy. Scripture declares the “angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them” (Psalm 34:7 NIV).

It was the “already” factor that Paul described best when he penned the promise of Philippians 4:19 (NKJV): “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” The angels are “already” there. In the Amos 9:13 paradigm of living, your anxiety will give way to the confidence that comes with seeing what is already yours through Christ Jesus.

Some time ago while reading through the Bible, I came upon what seemed to be the endless genealogies of the patriarchs found in the pages of the Old Testament. Reading in Exodus 1:5 (NKJV), I was reminded of the sons of Jacob who went into Egypt with him during the time of famine. Starting with Reuben and ending with Asher, a total of eleven sons are listed as being with Jacob when he arrived. However, Jacob was father to twelve sons. The one not listed with the others is Joseph. In your Bible, you will see Joseph’s name isolated and standing alone from the others and encased between parentheses. Within those parentheses you will discover a treasure almost hidden away in what some would consider parenthetical insignificance. Here is how it is written in the Bible, complete with the parentheses: “(for Joseph was in Egypt already).”

The impact of that little phrase is explosive in my spirit. Think about it. The man God would use to sustain his father and brothers was already in place before their arrival. Through Joseph, the foresight and insight needed to guide a country through a famine was already in place before the famine even started. Pharaoh didn’t have to import a financial genius from some faraway place in order to secure Egypt’s endangered economy. His best economist and financial strategist was embodied in one who was already there. The answer was in place before the problem ever manifested.

So it was with the provision for our soul’s redemption. Long before sin marred the complexion of humankind, there was a “Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8 NKJV).

So it is with your life. In this miraculous paradigm of God’s favor, you’ll discover that His blessings and provision will precede you and enable you to make a difference in others. As God releases His favor, you will see as never before the reality of 2 Corinthians 9:10 (NIV): “Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.”

Try to imagine it—a life benefiting from exceeded expectations and realizing the abundant increase from all the trust, time, talent, and treasure you invest in the Father’s hands. What would life be like if you experienced the full impact of God’s accelerated impact upon each minute of every day you live?

To live in such a reality is not beyond reason. In fact, it already exists.
