Why Do I Need Jesus Christ?

“I can handle this. I’ll take care of everything.” Have you or someone you know shared those words? Life can be busy. The “to-do” lists wait to be completed. Sometimes keeping a routine can make us feel at ease and peaceful. When everything in life is well, how often do we call out to God? What happens when we ask the question ‘Why do I need Jesus Christ?’

Parents want their children to be independent, compassionate, reliable, and trustworthy as they grow into adulthood. The ability to deal with everyday situations is learned through the ups and downs of life. When times are good, some people may put the need for sharing time with God aside. When times are bad, some people run to God and seek His help.

When do we need Jesus Christ? The answer is always. There is never a time when we don’t need the love, forgiveness, and mercy of Jesus Christ. Although we continue to sin, we have an open door to Him. Asking Jesus Christ to come into our hearts is the path to salvation.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13 NIV)

In the joys of life, we need Jesus. In the sadness of life, we need Jesus. God sent His only Son so we may be saved and know the Father. God listens and hears and collects every tear. Jesus is our path to God. Jesus is the way to Heaven.

Jesus died for our sins. He was tried, crucified, and buried. The story doesn’t end there. On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave. The Bible shares that we come to God through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Without the sacrifice of the Son of God, we would be eternally separated from God.

We need Jesus Christ because He is the path to God. We are created to love and serve God, and our words and actions may lead others to know the Father. However, we are not alone in the journey. Jesus Christ is needed to show us the way.

Jesus comforted the disciples when they worried and were uncertain of what would happen. Jesus explained that the only way to the Father was through Jesus.

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 NIV)

Scripture shares the words that Jesus spoke. Those words were true then and are true now.

We need Jesus Christ because He is the way to know God. Humans can’t save themselves. There is hope found in the Savior. He died for our sins. Yes, we need Jesus Christ.

When we try to handle things on our own, failure will happen. When we take our needs to God, He will guide us along the way.

Dear God, thank You for Jesus Christ. Thank You for loving us and sacrificing Your Son so that we may know You. Amen.

In His Name,
