Victory in Your Darkest Hour: How Praise Brings Breakthrough

Would you like to start an earthquake?

I don’t mean an earthquake that shakes the ground and causes buildings to tremble, but one that shakes the spiritual realm, demolishing satanic strongholds that have hindered God’s blessings in your finances, health, or family.

This is exactly the kind of spiritual earthquake Paul and Silas ignited in a Philippian jail in Acts 16:22–34. As they prayed, gave thanks, and worshiped the Lord, “there was a great earthquake” that shook the prison and set the captives free.

Though Paul and Silas had been brutally beaten and unjustly imprisoned, they did not complain. They prayed. They gave thanks. They sang praises to God.

And the Lord responded with an earthquake that completely transformed their circumstances.

What a powerful picture of the overwhelming VICTORY God will release in your life as you worship and obey Him today. God is able to unleash a tidal wave of blessings that reverses every negative situation!

Breakthrough at Midnight

Don’t miss this important detail in Acts 16:25: Paul and Silas received their breakthrough “at midnight.” God proved Himself faithful in their darkest hour.

Friend, this is very good news. No matter what difficult situation you may be facing today, your miracle breakthrough may be much closer than you think.

A Forgotten Key to Victory

It’s easy to thank the Lord after the victory. But Scripture teaches us a deeper truth:

We must give God praise before we see the victory.

Just as God broke the chains in that Philippian jail, He wants to break your chains today.

As you draw near to Him with a thankful heart, believe God for freedom from:

• Poverty or debt
• Sickness or depression
• Loneliness or hopelessness
• Addiction or family strife
• And so much more!

I receive many testimonies from Inspiration partners who have been SET FREE from situations that once held them back from God’s best. Some have experienced deliverance from strongholds. Others have seen doors miraculously opened in relationships, careers, or ministry.

As Paul and Silas worshiped the Lord, “All the doors were opened.” (Acts 16:26)

Praise Opens Doors

No matter what you are facing today, take a moment right now to thank the Lord.

Thank Him for the victory you need.
Thank Him for the doors that must open.
Thank Him for the answers you’ve been praying for.

In 2 Chronicles 20, God’s people were surrounded by three enemy armies. They were vastly outnumbered. Defeat seemed inevitable. But before they ever saw the victory, they began to praise the Lord.

As they worshiped, God intervened—and their enemies were scattered!

Remember: Your praise to God is
a powerful weapon of warfare.

Victory Comes Suddenly

You may have been waiting a long time, but your breakthrough can come suddenly, just as it did for Paul and Silas.

Even when it feels like you are in your “midnight hour,” God will turn your circumstances around as you give Him praise.

I also hear from many partners who are burdened for their unsaved loved ones. Acts 16 tells us that the spiritual earthquake brought salvation not only to the jailer, but to “all his household” (v. 33).

God desires your entire family to experience His salvation and victory!

Triggering the Transformation

Just as earthquakes and tsunamis are powerful natural forces, your praise and worship can release spiritual shockwaves that transform your life.

Those who maintain an attitude of gratitude tend to attract greater blessings and favor, while those who complain often attract increased distress.

Paul and Silas didn’t wait for their circumstances to change. Their worship came first, then the breakthrough followed.

Paul later instructed believers to present their requests to God “with thanksgiving” (Philippians 4:6), and he declared, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

When you cultivate a heart of thanksgiving, you will see God intervene, and victory will follow.
