Needing Fresh Fire?

Needing fresh fire? You’re not alone. As you step into a new year, God is inviting you to fan the flame of His presence, walk in His favor, and experience a fresh outpouring of His power in every area of your life.

3 keys to making 2026 the year of God’s favor!

Fresh fire. That’s what Jesus carried into the synagogue on the day He preached His very first sermon. As He unrolled the scroll of Isaiah, His words burning with purpose:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim liberty for the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor (Luke 4:18–19).

What a beginning! Jesus didn’t come with cold rituals or empty traditions; He came ablaze with the Spirit’s anointing. His fire brought good news for the poor, healing for the broken, hope for the weary, and freedom for the bound.

But here’s the beautiful truth: that same fire isn’t just for history books. It’s for us today. You and I are invited to live in the power of His presence and the fullness of His favor.

As we step into 2026, I believe God wants to stir up fresh fire in your life, not just a spark here or there, but a whole season of His goodness blazing bright. And in the next few moments, I want to share a few simple keys to help you fan that flame and walk in more of His favor.

1. Proclaim it.

If you want fresh fire in your life, here’s the first step: Proclaim favor just like Jesus did!

Jesus didn’t just whisper those words in the synagogue; He declared them with fiery authority. And He calls us to do the same. Scripture tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21). Your words carry weight. They can either ignite hope or fuel despair, open the door to blessing or reinforce the enemy’s lies.

Now, I know what you may be thinking, That sounds good, but what about the season I’m in right now? Maybe you’re walking through a winter season in your soul … a job loss, a financial hardship, an illness, the pain of losing someone dear, or even ongoing struggles with your children. Seasons like these can make it easy to stay silent or worse, to let words of despair and doubt spill out.

But here’s the good news: you don’t have to be a victim of your circumstances. You can rise up and speak God’s promises right into the middle of your storm. Lift your voice and declare, “This year will not be defined by loss or defeat. This will be a year of God’s favor, blessing, and breakthrough in my life!”

When you begin proclaiming God’s truth instead of rehearsing the enemy’s lies, everything starts to shift. Your faith rises. Hope awakens. And Heaven responds to the words of agreement spoken from your lips.

So don’t just think about the year of God’s favor—begin to declare it boldly. Let your own tongue pave the way for the turnaround God wants to bring.

2. Go beyond short-term resolutions.

This time of year it seems like everyone is making a New Year’s resolution of some kind. Losing weight … getting out of debt … rekindling romance in their marriage … spending more time with the Lord or their children. There are many different areas of life where people are seeking a fresh start.

Although I’m certainly not against New Year’s resolutions, I believe God wants to give you something much greater than just a bunch of short-term resolutions:

God can give you a New Year’s revolution!

Instead of just changing a few troublesome symptoms, I’m convinced the Lord can transform every area of your life this year, dealing with root causes that have hindered you for years.

What difficult situations do you need God to turn around today? Has the enemy stolen something precious from you, whether it be your health, a close relationship, your finances, or simply your peace and joy?

Let’s pray BIG, audacious prayers this year, claiming God’s promises like this one in Jeremiah 30:3:

For behold, days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will restore the fortunes of My people!

Isn’t that fantastic? When you invite Jesus to be the Ruler of your heart, you are “a new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

3. Seek God’s wisdom.

I meet many people who are frustrated that something seems missing in their Christian life. Perhaps they attend church, pay their tithes, and even sow additional financial seeds to reach the world with the Gospel. But although they’ve heard God’s promises about health, prosperity, and an abundant life, for some reason they aren’t seeing those promises activated in their life.

What could be the missing ingredients in the lives of these well-meaning believers?

Often I’ve found that people simply aren’t walking in God’s wisdom. You see, when you open your heart to God’s wisdom, everything else in your life is impacted. Not only will He reenergize your spiritual life, but there will also be a transformation of your health, finances, and relationships. In fact, His wisdom can change EVERY area of your life, as King Solomon describes:

Get wisdom, get insight; do not forget and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.
Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you.
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight.
Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her
She will place on your head a graceful garland; she will bestow on you with a beautiful crown (Proverbs 4:5–9).

God’s wisdom and His favor go together hand in hand. And if you sense a need for more of His wisdom and favor in your life this year, all you have to do is ASK:

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him (James 1:5).

Take a moment right now to quiet your heart and invite the Lord to fill you with His wisdom for the year ahead. As you open His Word and linger in His presence, you’ll discover that His wisdom isn’t just information; it’s transformation. It has the power to change the course of your life!

Today, I’m lifting you up in prayer, believing with all my heart that God has incredible things in store for you and for the ministry we share together.

Never forget: God is faithful. Fresh fire is available. And as you begin putting these three keys into practice, I believe you’ll fan the flames of your breakthrough. A turnaround is on the horizon that will bring more joy, more peace, and more victory than you’ve ever experienced before.

Your partner to reach the lost,

Ready to ignite fresh fire in your life? Take a bold step of faith and sow a seed today toward the breakthrough you’re believing for.

When you release what’s in your hand, God releases what’s in His. Plant your seed of expectation now and step into the year of His favor!
