Inspiration Ministries Celebrating Millions of People Reached in 30 Years

As we celebrate Inspiration Ministries’ 30th Anniversary, we sat down with our founder and chairman/CEO, David Cerullo, to listen to his reflections over the years.

What are some of your favorite memories from these past 30 years?

These past 30 years have brought so many memories, beginning with launching the Inspiration Network in 1990. We built our first ministry headquarters building in 1992, including our broadcast studios, videotape editing facilities, and satellite uplink. In 1993, we broadcast the first of what would become many New Year’s Eve Live Celebrations called Jubilate with Bill and Gloria Gaither.

Barbara and our daughter, Becky, launched our Everyday Woman ministry, including their television program and magazine. In 2001, our son Ben launched our teen ministry Steel Roots, which positively impacted thousands of teens. In 2014, I started doing my daily video devotional series, Strengthen Your Walk (TM). 2006 saw the consecration and groundbreaking of the land for the City of Light campus, and we began building the campus with our International Prayer Center and new ministry headquarters. We dedicated these beautiful buildings in 2008.

Over the years, we have produced so many wonderful television specials, such as “Night of Joy,” the first and only live Christian music concert to be produced from Walt Disney World; “The Price of Freedom”; “True Love Waits”; “The Coming Storm from the Valley of Megiddo in Israel”; and “Where Do People Go When They Die?” Our children’s ministry began with Discovery Jones and continues to see tens of thousands of children commit their lives to Jesus Christ. The launch of The Inspiration Network International in 2010 has led to broadcasting Biblical preaching, Christian talk shows, and Biblical programming into more than 200 nations around the world now.

Our evangelism and discipleship initiatives are growing stronger every year with the expansion of social media. This year we have projected more than 3 MILLION souls will come into the Kingdom of God through Inspiration Ministries!

Millions of lives have been impacted for Christ by Inspiration Ministries throughout the years. Can you share a specific testimony that really moved you?

Truly God has used us to impact the lives of millions of people around the world through Inspiration Ministries – families and marriages restored, people healed and saved. Perhaps one of the most moving testimonies came from a young person who wrote to say if it were not for Steel Roots he would be dead. Sitting on his bed with a loaded revolver in his hands waiting to kill himself, he turned on the TV, and there was Ben with one of our Steel Roots programs. This young man’s life and eternal home were changed as he watched the program, put down the gun, and invited Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior.

If you had to describe the journey over these past 30 years briefly, what would you say?

It’s been an incredible journey and testament to what God has done and continues to do because my family and I said yes to God’s call on our lives. It’s a reminder to me that God is not looking at who I am or what I have, but instead on what He can do through me if I am obedient. The same is true for you!

What do you see in the future for Inspiration Ministries?

It is so exciting to know that almost every 11 seconds of every day someone, somewhere is asking Jesus to be the Lord of his or her life through Inspiration Ministries. The future of Inspiration Ministries is to continue the mission of impacting lives for Christ worldwide through media until Jesus returns.
