As we celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, I’m praying for you to experience a season of unmistakable breakthrough in your life.

For seven days every autumn, the people of Israel left the comfort of their homes and lived in simple shelters made of branches. It may have looked strange to their neighbors. But every family sitting under that leafy roof was remembering something vital. For 40 years in the wilderness, God had been their shelter, their provision, and their protection.

God commanded it this way: “You shall dwell in booths for seven days … that your generations may know that I made the people of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God” (Leviticus 23:42–43).

More Than a Memory

This feast isn’t just a historical remembrance. God calls it one of “my appointed feasts” (Leviticus 23:2). The Hebrew word, moed, describes a set time, a scheduled meeting. Think of it as a divine appointment on Heaven’s calendar. God chose the time and invited His people to meet with Him.

That invitation still stands. Whether you’re believing for healing, deliverance, protection, financial provision, or a restored relationship, this season reminds you that God keeps His appointments. You can come to Him with confidence and expect Him to move on your behalf.

Promises You Can Stand On

In Exodus 23, right after God establishes three annual feasts, including the Feast of Ingathering we now know as Tabernacles, He makes powerful promises to the people who follow Him. He says He will:

• Send an angel before you “to guard you on the way” (Exodus 23:20)
• Be “an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries” (Exodus 23:22)
• Bless your bread and your water and “take sickness away from among you” (Exodus 23:25)
• “Fulfill the number of your days” (Exodus 23:26)
• Bring increase until you “possess the land” (Exodus 23:30)

Moses later told the people that during this feast, “the LORD your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether joyful” (Deuteronomy 16:15). Through the prophet Joel, God promised a harvest so abundant that He would “restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten” (Joel 2:25).

These aren’t vague wishes. They’re the promises of a faithful God who wants His people to walk with Him and receive everything He has prepared for them.

Jesus and the Feast of Tabernacles

Tabernacles points straight to Jesus. John writes that “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). The Greek word for “dwelt” means to pitch a tent. Jesus literally tabernacled among us. God didn’t stay distant. He came to live with His people.

On the last and greatest day of this very feast, Jesus stood up in the temple and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water’” (John 7:37–38). Everything the feast pictured, from God’s shelter in the wilderness to His abundant harvest, finds its fulfillment in Him.

What Are You Believing For?

God wants you to experience the fullness of His provision, not only spiritually but in every area of your life.

He also invites you to respond in faith. When Israel came to the Feast of Booths, God said, “They shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed. Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God that he has given you” (Deuteronomy 16:16–17). Their offerings were an act of trust, a declaration that God was their Source. When you worship, sow, and believe, you’re following that same pattern of faith, and God delights to respond.

Step into His Presence with Bold Faith

Don’t let this season pass without seeking Him intentionally. Here are a few simple ways to begin:

• Set aside time each day this week to worship and pray.
• Write down the specific breakthrough you’re believing for, then find a promise in God’s Word to stand on.
• Thank Him for the ways He’s sheltered and provided for you in your own wilderness seasons.
• Sow a seed of faith as an act of trust in Him as your Source.

As you do, get ready for things to shift. This is your appointed time. God isn’t only willing to meet you right where you are. He’s eager to.
