“4 Life-Changing Lessons from the Magi”

I’m praying this won’t just be an “ordinary” Christmas for you, but a life-changing time when you encounter the amazing love of the Savior whose birth we celebrate.

I encourage you to take some time today to meditate on these 4 vital lessons from the story of the magi who journeyed in search of young King Jesus (Matthew 2:1-12):

  1. They came to worship Him (v. 2). Instead of being distracted by all the trappings of the Christmas season, make sure to focus on truly worshiping Jesus.
  1. Nothing could divert them from their mission (vs. 3-8). When God gives us a dream, we often have to deal with a “King Herod” who tries to distract us along the way. Don’t let any naysayers talk you out of the joy of Christmas this year!
  2. They not only worshiped Him with their mouths and their time, they also worshiped Him with their treasure. The magi brought Jesus a generous offering:  Opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh” (v. 11). Giving to God part of our treasure should always be an important part of our worship. And what better “Christmas present” could we give to Jesus than to sow a special financial offering to reach lost people with the Gospel?
  3. They returned home “another way” (v. 12). True worship will transform us and cause us to walk on a different path. As you worship Jesus this Christmas season, He wants to change your life and give you the breakthroughs you need. I am praying for God to give you Christmas miracles in your health, finances, emotions, and relationships.

This holiday season, may the Lord give you a fresh revelation of His love for YOU—love that took Him from the glories of Heaven to a dusty stable in Bethlehem…to a cross on a Jerusalem hillside…to the right hand of God’s throne in Heaven…so that you might spend eternity with Him!

God bless you,
