Babies from Heaven

When Markeete and her husband sowed a seed for grandchildren, they didn’t expect such a swift and joyful harvest—but babies from Heaven soon arrived.

A Faithful Foundation

For nearly four decades, Markeete and her husband have served the Lord. “God has been the heart of our family since we married. It amazes us to look back over the years and see all God has done,” she shared.

An Unexpected Emptiness

“But last year, we began realizing that our children had done exactly what we asked … and that had created an emptiness we didn’t expect: no grandchildren! We always told our children, ‘Put God first, then get your education, and leave marriage and family to later.’ Each of our children has honored our instruction, and while all married, none were pursuing having children. Our one son blessed us with a precious adopted grandchild whom we love dearly, but as my husband said, ‘There was no one to carry on his blood.’ We accepted our children’s concerns of health issues, school debts, and career priorities, but still felt an ache of emptiness.”

Shortly after this realization, Markeete happened to tune into an Inspiration TV broadcast. “We have always been faithful to give tithes and offerings, but sowing a seed with expectation was a different idea to us. We decided that we would sow a seed for grandchildren and see what God would do. We figured at the very least the ministry would be blessed.”

A Double Blessing

It didn’t take long for Markeete to see just how much faith pleases the Father! “We sowed our first seed in February. Less than three weeks later, one of our children let us know they were expecting a baby!

The next month, another baby announcement came in. By December of last year—less than a year after first sowing seed—Markeete had two, new, precious grandbabies.

Witnessing the joy of children prompted their remaining child to sit down with her husband and discuss when they might have their firstborn. Markeete is sowing seed and prayer for continued baby blessings with great expectation!

God Still Answers Prayer

“We give all glory to God. I wanted to share our story to encourage others. It is exciting to keep learning more about the ways God works. Acts 17:28, ‘In Him we live and move and have our being,’ has been my experience of God, but this was a new joy. I am also reminded of Revelation 12:11, which says, ‘They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.’ Maybe our story will bolster someone else’s faith to believe God for their harvest!

Seedtime and harvest is a principle in the Kingdom of God that you can rely on! God promises that those who delight in Him will receive the desires of their heart.
