Dr.Nicole Berman is a gifted archaeologist who has been waiting for her big break. Nicole had never been good at waiting. However, when her mother is injured in what appears to be an ordinary household accident Nicole’s attention is temporarily diverted from her dream of a significant archaeological discovery. Little did she know how quickly her two worlds would be threatened.

From the center of a criminal investigation in modern day Manhattan you will find yourself plunged into ancient Ur of the Chaldees following a story filled with intrigue and suspense. Two families with secrets withheld yet to be unearthed. Back and forth you will be hurtled, two separate searches leading to challenging results. Hold on to your seats. The ride can get chilling at times.

Jerry Jenkins is a master storyteller best known for his Left Behind series. He has the uncanny ability to develop unique plots that transform the unlikely into the possible. In Dead Sea Rising, Jenkins brings biblical history to life. He takes an age-old Bible story and gives it a new spin, a very unexpected spin. But Jenkins doesn’t stop there. He creates characters that are authentic, situations that demand the use of your every emotion, and drama and suspense that keep you on the edge of your seat. The word is riveting.

Finally arriving in Jordan to lead her dig, Berman soon suspects she has found evidence of a biblical patriarch that would shatter history and forever change the world. But there are those who don’t want the truth exposed. While urgently trying to connect pieces of an ancient puzzle, she soon discovers herself in a perilous situation where treacherous enemies attempt to stop her. Not willing to be deterred, she forges on.

All the while, the situation is heating up in Manhattan and Berman finds herself once again torn between her two worlds. Suddenly she has her faith tested and she struggles with questions she never had to consider before. Will she get the answers she needs?

I warn you; this is not an everyday happily ever after story. Prepare to have your imagination stretched in Jerry Jenkins’ novel, Dead Sea Rising. However, if you have ever longed to travel through time unearthing ancient mysteries, I strongly urge you to read this book. I promise you won’t put it down until you’ve read the last word. But beware, this book will leave you yearning for more.
