Well-Conceived Plots

David had been the victim of many plots. But he also had been involved in conceiving plots about others. From his own experience, he knew that “the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep.” He knew how often people plotted and planned, devising schemes that seemed foolproof.

But what these plotters fail to understand is that God knows every secret, no matter how deep the thought or private the discussions. He knows the weaknesses of every well-conceived plot.

God acts to burst the bubble of all who depend upon their own wisdom and think they have everything figured out. Circumstances might change. Resources might dry up. Events that seemed so predestined might unfold in unexpected ways.

Every time we see these things happening in our lives or the world, we should remember that God wants us to trust in Him. No one can out-think God. The result of every failed plot and imperfectly realized plan is that, eventually, “all men will fear, and they will declare the work of God, and will consider what He has done.”

Today, if you feel frustrated and aggravated, remember to look to God for direction and wisdom. Do not trust in your own understanding, but commit the situations you face to Him. And seek to serve Him faithfully. As David said, “the righteous man will be glad in the Lord and will take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart will glory.”

Throughout the day, no matter what you face, have faith in God. You can trust Him!
