Paul knew how easily we can place limits on God. No matter how often He has answered our prayers, we still can have doubts. No matter what we say we believe, we still may not be certain. Our prayers may be based on vague hopes, rather than on confident assertions. We may lack the faith to be sure He can solve our problems.

But the Bible tells us that our God can do anything! In fact, He is “able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.” We need to realize that our thoughts have limits. God is so much greater than anything we can imagine.

Instead of being prisoners to our own limited understanding, Paul urges us to seek God—asking for His help in realizing more clearly how great He is. We need to ask Him to shatter our shallow expectations and remove any ceiling we might place on His power. No matter what we can conceive, God can do much more!

How does He do this? “According to the power that works in us.” His power is not distant or just a theory; it is alive, operative, and at work in our lives. And it is true “to all generations.”

Today, ask God to give you a fresh revelation of His power. Ask Him to help you grasp that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think. This power is available—right now—to provide for your needs and answer your prayers.

Remember: There is no limit to what God can do. Believe Him for favor, for abundance, for peace, and for unlimited blessings.
