Ready for Turnaround: Trusting God for Victory

When you’re ready for turnaround, trust that God is marching ahead of you—bringing victory even when the odds seem impossible.

“Up! For this is the day in which the LORD has given Sisera into your hand. Does not the LORD go out before you?” (Judges 4:14).

Israel had sinned, and God allowed them to fall under the control of Jabin, king of Canaan. Jabin used his advantages to oppress Israel “cruelly for twenty years” (v. 3).

During that time, Israel was being judged by the prophetess Deborah. One day she summoned Barak to tell him God was commanding him to take 10,000 men and march to Mount Tabor. She gave him God’s strategy for victory: “I will draw out Sisera, the general of Jabin’s army, to meet you by the river Kishon with his chariots and his troops, and I will give him into your hand” (v. 7). Barak agreed to move forward only if Deborah went with him.

As they approached Mount Tabor and saw Sisera’s mighty army—an intimidating force, Deborah told Barak, “Get ready! This is the day the LORD will give you victory over Sisera, for the Lord is marching ahead of you” (v. 14 NLT).

Encouraged by Deborah’s words, the army confidently entered battle and won a decisive victory. Their entire situation changed!

How often we can feel like Israel—outnumbered and facing an enemy with superior resources. We need to know God is with us and can give us victory!

Commit your situations to God. Obey His Word and seek the leading of His Spirit. He can turn your situation around. Move forward boldly, be filled with faith, trust in God. He is on your side!
