Totally Whole

Daily Devotional2 Minutes

Jesus can make you totally whole with just a word like he did for a man with a lifelong infirmity.

“A certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years … He said to him, ‘Do you want to be made well? […] Rise, take up your bed and walk.’ And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.”—John 5:5–9 NKJV

This man had been sick for 38 years. As a result, he lost all hope and felt that nothing would ever change. But Jesus made him totally well just by speaking a word.

We can easily be like this man—so accustomed to our problems that we lose hope and assume nothing can change. We can even doubt that Jesus can make a difference.

Instead, we need to remember how quickly Jesus can change everything! Remember, He came that we might be totally whole and might have abundant life (John 10:10). He offers to meet every need.

Yet countless people suffer from afflictions for years. Many remain overwhelmed with difficulties and problems. Multitudes feel hopeless and discouraged. Many have given up.

No matter what we face, we need to remember that Jesus came, so we can be totally whole. We don’t have to suffer under the weight of sin or be burdened by loneliness, fear, or anxiety. We don’t have to be overwhelmed with worry. Instead, we can be confident that He wants to bless us in every area.

Don’t be content with anything less than all that God has prepared for you. He wants you to overflow with abundance, experience health and favor, and enjoy His blessings.

Don’t be crippled by doubt or robbed of all that He has prepared for you. Believe Him. Trust Him. Have faith.

Reflection Question: What area of your life do you need Jesus to heal?
