The Evidence

The path to the blessing of God begins with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Yes, it is possible to amass assets without that relationship. We even see evidence of how people can gain power for a season and how they might experience short-term pleasure and success.

With this in mind, the Bible encourages us to realize that nothing in this world lasts forever, but that God offers eternal rewards. As John reminds us, “The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever” (v. 17).

God offers blessings that never fade. These blessings are available for those who “have come to know Him.” They can know that their lives are in line with Him by examining the Word and keeping His commandments.

Jesus is their example, and they “walk in the same manner as He walked.” They seek first the Kingdom of God and always desire to serve Him. They trust Him to supply their needs. They are generous and bless others with the blessings they have received. They always are ready to demonstrate His love to others.

Like Jesus, they are eager to unleash the power of God to provide healing and encouragement. Like Jesus, they are freed from fear, totally trusting in the Father.

Today, ask God to overwhelm your life with His love. Seek to obey Him and put His principles into practice. Let Him shower His blessings on you. Let your life be a testimony to the world around you: God is real and He loves us.
