Remembering Moses and His Face-to-Face Faith

Daily Devotional2 Minutes

Remembering Moses shows us the power of knowing God face to face, living by faith, and leaving a legacy shaped by His presence.

“There has not arisen a prophet since in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, none like him for all the signs and wonders … for all the mighty power and all the great deeds of terror.”—Deuteronomy 34:10–12

How does the Bible sum up the life of Moses? The final verses of Deuteronomy tell us that he was remembered as a man who had a deep personal relationship with God, a man who knew the Lord “face to face.” Looking back over his life, the Israelites could recall many occasions when Moses spent time with God, speaking with Him and hearing from Him—throughout the time in the wilderness and right up until the end of his life. That relationship was more important than his personal skills, charisma, experiences, or talents.

Moses also was remembered as a man through whom God performed “signs and wonders.” Because of his intimacy with God, he had faith and knew that all things were possible. He could confidently confront Pharaoh, defy the magicians of Egypt, stand before an enemy army, and command the sea to open. He continued to demonstrate this “mighty power” to Israel while they were in the wilderness.

How will you be remembered? God is ready to transform you, empower you, and shape your life, just as He did for Moses. Seek to be one who develops that kind of special relationship—knowing Him personally and intimately.

Let the Lord give you boldness and faith. Trust in Him to meet your needs, protect and guide you, defeat your enemies, and provide breakthroughs. He wants to use you to impact lives for His Kingdom.

Reflection Question: How do you want to be remembered in your walk with God?
