Reaching for the One Who Restores

As you hold on to hope, Reaching for the One Who Restores shows how faith can break through every obstacle and brings healing when you touch Jesus.

“A woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years … came up behind him in the crowd and touched His garment. … ‘If I touch even His garments, I will be made well.’ Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up” (Mark 5:25–29).

Nothing had worked, and the woman had run out of options. For 12 years, her pain persisted. She had visited physicians, spending “all that she had.” Yet instead of getting better, she “grew worse” (v. 26).

But she felt hope when she heard about Jesus. Even though a crowd surrounded Him she wouldn’t let anything stop her.

She worked her way through until she was close enough to touch Jesus’ cloak. She had the faith to believe that by touching His garments, she would get well. And when she did, she was healed! Immediately her whole life was turned around.

Many people are like this woman—struggling with health problems or financial lack, broken relationships or addictions, depression or anxiety. Their careers may seem to have reached a dead end. After experiencing unfulfilled hopes, they may have given up.

Yet some, like this woman, realize there is hope in Jesus. They are willing to reach out with all the faith they have. They commit themselves to seeking the Lord and will push through the crowds or any other distractions to touch Him.

If you face situations that seem impossible, remember this woman. When nothing seems to work, Jesus can turn your life around. Reach out and touch Him, even if you feel weak and hopeless. Call on Him anytime! Reach out to Him in faith. He can turn any situation around.
