Proof

“He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day … that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time.”—1 Corinthians 15:4–6 NASB

No one seemed to believe that Jesus had risen from the dead—not even His mother or brothers. Even His disciples seemed to have forgotten that, at least five times, He said He would rise from the dead. When Mary Magdalene and other women came to His tomb, they came to anoint His dead body. But not only had Jesus told them He would be crucified and rise again on the third day, He also told them where to meet Him after the resurrection!

What changed their minds to believe? Simply this: They became eyewitnesses to the resurrection! They saw Him, talked with Him, and even touched His nail-scarred body. At one point, the resurrected Christ appeared to more than 500 people.

These eyewitness experiences convinced them that Jesus had risen! They knew what was true, and the truth radically transformed their lives!

We can read these accounts and know that Jesus rose from the dead! But the greatest proof comes to those who have a personal relationship with Jesus, who have experienced the power of His resurrection, and who know the risen Savior.
