Pleasantness and Peace

Many people think that having wisdom just means knowing more facts. Learning more about more subjects. Being better educated. But the Bible provides a different perspective.

In fact, real wisdom comes from God, and it is available to anyone, regardless of their education, background, or age. In fact, this wisdom is intensely practical, and can influence everything we do and say, including the quality of our lives.

The Bible promises that God’s wisdom provides “pleasantness.” The Hebrew word here describes an ideal life, filled with delight, beauty, and favor in everything we undertake. His wisdom helps us develop the right habits, enables us to make the right decisions, and points us in the right direction.

Godly wisdom also gives us “peace.” The Hebrew word indicates that we will have a sense of being complete, with a sound mind, body, and spirit. We will feel safe and healthy, and have God’s blessings. We will have harmonious relationships with other people and with God Himself. We will be content and satisfied with our jobs, families, and every other part of our lives.

What more could we ask?

In the world around us, we hear many opinions. What others think is smart. What makes the most sense. What solves problems. What leads to peace and contentment. As you hear these things, always remember that real wisdom only comes from God. And that it is available to you.

No matter where you are in your spiritual life, remember why you need to seek and apply His wisdom. For He can take away fear and worry, and give you pleasantness and peace.

Fill your life with His Word, and put it into practice. Declare His promises to be true for you. As you experience more of God’s wisdom, let Him pour His pleasantness into your life, and help you walk on paths of peace.
