Overcomer

In his vision, John heard a “loud voice” when “the accuser of our brethren” was cast down (v. 10). He saw that believers faced overwhelming problems but were able to overcome every accusation. What was their secret? The blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. These two powerful weapons are still available to us and can help us overcome our problems.

First, we must remember the power of Jesus’ blood. He was the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. We see this power symbolized when Israel was delivered from bondage in Egypt. Those who had the blood of a lamb on their doorposts were protected. Through His death on the cross, Jesus defeated Satan and the power of his demons.

We also have power through our words when we speak His words. As Jesus taught, His words are spirit and life (John 6:63). We need to be bold in sharing our testimony, proclaiming what He has done for us. Confidently declare His promises, and testify about how He changed our lives.

Today, realize that Jesus shed His blood for you. Through His blood, you have victory over sin and your enemies. When you feel assaulted or attacked, claim His blood as your protection. And be bold to speak His name and proclaim His promises! You, too, can overcome through the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony!
