Hidden Things

Just like Daniel discovered, God still reveals hidden things to those who seek Him with faith and boldness.

“It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.”—Daniel 2:22 NASB

Daniel faced what seemed like an impossible situation. King Nebuchadnezzar demanded that his advisors not only provide the correct explanation of a disturbing dream, but also that they describe the dream itself! The king’s wise men complained that this was humanly impossible. Angered, the king ordered them all killed, including Daniel.

Although Daniel recognized that no man could fulfill the king’s request, he also believed God could do anything. In a vision, God revealed to him every detail of the king’s dream.

After listening to Daniel’s vivid description, Nebuchadnezzar “fell on his face and paid humble respect to Daniel.” He had experienced a miracle, proclaiming, “Your God truly is a God of gods and a Lord of kings and a revealer of secrets” (vs. 46–47).

It can be easy to think that such revelations are possible only for select people, such as Daniel. But we need to remember that we serve the same God. He still knows “profound and hidden things,” and He’s willing to reveal these things to us.

Commit every question and need to God in humble and sincere prayer. Have the faith to believe that He can reveal anything to you. Be bold to ask Him for insights about the difficult situations you face. He still is a revealer of mysteries.
