Enlarging Your Vision

Enlarging your vision encourages us to move beyond limitations and believe God for more because with Him, our capacity and calling can expand.

“Sing, O barren … break forth into singing … Enlarge the place of your tent … stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes … Your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited.”—Isaiah 54:1–3 NKJV

The picture is one of emptiness and fruitlessness—a woman who was barren and desolate. But God was going to perform a miracle. She would have sons and celebrate.

God wanted to change her expectations, attitude, character, and destiny. Instead of her former hopelessness, He wanted her to realize His desire to bless her with the fullness of His bounty.

Rather than dwelling on her limitations, she was to get ready for expansion: “Enlarge the place of your tent.” Instead of thinking small, she was not to “spare.” Instead of focusing on past failures, she was told, “Lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes.”

We easily become discouraged, worried, and feel defeated. We feel limited, vulnerable, and overwhelmed by enormous challenges.

But God is bigger than the problems we face! He is the God of all creation, the Lord of the universe. We are His people, and He wants to bless us. Instead of feeling discouraged, we need to ask Him to expand our vision and help us think His thoughts. Because He is on our side, we can find victory in every situation we face.

Ask God to deliver you from small thinking. Don’t dwell on your limits, but on His limitlessness! Declare your victory in Jesus’ name!
