Crying Out to God

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

How natural it can seem to trust in ourselves, to reject advice that clashes with our own interests, and to seek things that we grasp. To trust in people whom we know and with whom we agree. How often we can fool ourselves into thinking that we know everything we need to know. That we always make right decisions.

The Bible reminds us that we all have limits—even the smartest and strongest of people. Yet the amazing fact is that God has no limits. And a key turning point in our lives comes the moment we recognize our weaknesses, and trust our lives to Him. When we stop pretending that we have god-like abilities and cry out to Him. This is one of the reasons Paul could write, “When I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10).

If we think we are self-sufficient and strong enough, we can trust in ourselves and not look to God. If we feel we are smart enough, we can trust in our own intelligence. If we are attractive in the world’s eyes, we can depend on our appearances. If we are rich, we can tend to depend on our own resources.

But, if we recognize our weaknesses and needs, and cry out to God, He is ready to provide all we need from His overwhelming, limitless resources.

How many people don’t receive God’s riches because they trust in their own strength! Because they don’t apply His principles or believe His Word. Because they don’t seek His blessings!

In your life, don’t depend on yourself, but recognize your need of God. Cry out to Him for the things you need. The Bible promises that, as you cry out, He is ready to answer and make you bold and strong in the Spirit.
