Believing God for the Impossible

Daily Devotional2 Minutes

As you seek His help, Believing God for the Impossible reminds you that His power still works today and can bring extraordinary miracles into your life.

“God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them” (Acts 19:11–12).

By the time Paul left Ephesus, “all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord” (v. 10). He spent two years there teaching and preaching, and he also demonstrated the power of God.

The power of God was so real and strong in his life that there were “extraordinary miracles.” If Paul touched an object such as a handkerchief or apron and it was carried to someone who was sick, they would be healed. Evil spirits left those who were possessed.

Paul proved that the Gospel is not confined to preaching and teaching. An integral part of the Gospel is unleashing the power of God to change lives and solve problems in amazing ways. In his letter to this same Ephesian church, Paul reminded them not to forget that God “is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think” and that His power “works within us” (Ephesians 3:20).

Teaching and preaching are essential to the Christian life, but we must not forget about God’s power. It’s a power so great that extraordinary things can be done and lives can be turned around.

This power is available to you. Call on Him to intervene in your life and meet your needs. Banish doubt, and believe God for what seems impossible. He’s the same God who worked through Paul. Remember … nothing is impossible for Him!

Reflection Question: Where do you need to believe God for what seems impossible?
