All Your Might

Life isn’t meant for half-hearted effort. “All Your Might” reminds us to work with excellence, serving God in everything we do.

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.”—Ecclesiastes 9:10 NASB

Some consistently do as little as possible, putting in minimal effort and looking for shortcuts. They cut corners, focusing on appearances or perception, not reality.

Many such people are motivated just by short-term pleasures or the needs of the moment. But the Bible tells us that a lack of effort has many negative consequences: “Because of laziness the building decays, and through idleness of hands the house leaks” (Ecclesiastes 10:18 NKJV).

The apostle Paul taught that Christians should approach life like an athletic competition, running the race to win and being disciplined (1 Corinthians 9:24–27). Echoing the words in Ecclesiastes, he wrote, “whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NKJV).

The Bible teaches that we should be motivated by our desire to please God. We’re to do everything in our lives as unto Him with integrity, excellence, efficiency, and passion. Every task is an opportunity to serve God, apply biblical principles, and use the abilities and gifts the Lord has given us.

God knows every thought and every deed. His eye is on us, and He has a unique call on our lives. Be faithful with the time, talents, and treasures you’ve been given. Do everything with all your might as unto Him.

Remember to serve Him in all you do, in every thought, word, and deed. Take advantage of every opportunity. Seize every moment!
