Evidence of a Transformed Life

Your actions are evidence of a transformed life, and Titus 1 warns that professing faith without obedience denies the very God we claim to know, calling us to live in a way that reflects the truth of the Gospel.

“They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works” (Titus 1:16).

It’s one thing to profess our faith. It’s another to prove the truth of our faith through our actions. In his letter to Titus, Paul indicated that some people simply repeat what others say. They are echoes, going along with the crowd while their lives tell a different story.

Today, as many as 82% of Americans say they believe in God. Around 35% attend church every month, and a solid majority say they are Christians. But how many really follow Jesus? How many put His teachings into practice? How many really believe that the Bible is God’s Word?

Ultimately, all of us must reflect on our own lives. Do we really know God, or do we just know about Him? Are we sure about our relationship with Jesus Christ? Are we merely echoing what other people want us to say, repeating words we’ve heard? Are we really being led by the Spirit, or are we following our own will and desires? Do we really know the Bible and what it teaches?

Ask God to help you examine your life. Declare anew that Jesus is your Lord. Commit your life to following Him. Make sure that the Bible is your only benchmark and that it sets your standards.

Don’t be ruled by the opinions of the world or what other people think. Seek to live so others can see the truth of the Gospel through your words and actions.
