The Great Commission

This Is What You’re Made For: Living the Great Commission

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries6 Minutes

Jesus’ final command was not optional—it was a direct assignment to His people. When we embrace the Great Commission, we step into our God-given purpose to reach the lost, make disciples, and spread the hope of Christ to a world desperate for truth.

Jesus’ final words weren’t a suggestion. They are a mission assignment known as the Great Commission.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations …” (Matthew 28:19–20 ESV)

At the very moment our risen Lord could have said anything, He said, “Go.” Reach the lost. Teach the Word. Make disciples. This isn’t a secondary part of our Christian life… it is the assignment that defines it.

The Mission Is Urgent

Every second, someone steps into eternity. Many have never heard the name of Jesus.

We live in the generation of the most rapid communication in history, yet billions still walk in spiritual darkness. People are searching for truth in politics, pleasure, and personal identity … but only the Gospel has the power to save and transform.

Jesus didn’t call us simply to live life and maintain the status quo. He called us to invade the darkness with light.

How You Can Be Part of the Great Commission Today

You may never step onto a mission field… but you can be a sender of the Gospel.

Here are three powerful ways for you to help fulfill Jesus’ command:

  1. Pray Faithfully: Intercede for the lost. Pray for open doors, bold witnesses, and a move of the Holy Spirit. Prayer unlocks hearts that preaching hasn’t reached yet.
  2. Give Generously: Your financial support sends the Gospel where you cannot go. This is “partnership in the Gospel” (Philippians 1:5). When you give, every soul reached becomes part of your harvest.
  3. Share Boldly: You can carry the Good News into your world … to family, coworkers, neighbors, and through your online influence.

Everyone has a role. Everyone is able.

Through your prayers, gifts, and personal witness, you become a sender and sustainer of the Gospel.

Let’s change eternity—one soul at a time.

As Paul wrote:

“How are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:14).

Paul wasn’t theorizing. He was living it. His heartbeat was: Christ must be preached. Even prison walls couldn’t slow him down. The urgency hasn’t faded. If anything, it’s increased.

This Is What We Are Created For

The Great Commission isn’t a church program. It’s our purpose.

From Genesis to Revelation, God’s plan has always been that the world would know Him through His people. We are:

  • Saved to share His truth
  • Blessed to become a blessing
  • Discipled so that we can make disciples

When we share Jesus, God receives glory.

When we lead others to freedom in Christ, Heaven rejoices.

And when we help a believer grow, we fulfill the reason we’re alive.

Obedience to Jesus’ last command is the highest expression of worship. It declares: Your Kingdom come. Your will be done.

Not Just for the Few—for All of Us

The Great Commission isn’t just for pastors or full-time missionaries. Jesus gave His command to every believer.

Goers and Senders: United in the Mission

Not everyone will cross oceans. Not everyone will preach on stage. But everyone has a role.

In Philippians 4, Paul thanked the church for standing with him in giving and support so that the Gospel could continue to advance. He called their generosity “a fragrant offering, acceptable and pleasing to God” (Philippians 4:18).

If you know Christ, you are …

  • Called
  • Equipped
  • Part of His mission

Those who go and those who send are partners in the harvest.

Both are essential. Both are obedient and bring Jesus glory.

Every soul saved through the outreaches of our ministry is fruit that overflows to you, the one who supports and sends.

The Time Is Now

We are living in a divine window of opportunity. Jesus told us: “The night is coming, when no one can work.” John 9:4

History is rapidly nearing the finish line. And God has chosen us … together … to carry the baton.

Don’t settle for the sidelines. Let’s run our race with passion and bring as many people as we can into the Kingdom.

This is our purpose. This is our worship. This is the Great Commission.

Let’s go, and let’s send.

Your support makes you a sender—joining us on the front lines to rescue the lost,
reach the unreached, and send Jesus to someone who may be one breath away from eternity without Him.
