I just want to take a few minutes and drop something really nice into your spirit. You know the Bible says we can become partakers of the divine nature. Now that doesn’t mean that you take a part of it, but it means you can participate in the divine nature of God. And we find that in 2 Peter 1.

2 Peter 1:1 says, “Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them who have obtained a like precious faith with us…” That’s a whole message in itself right there. That faith that you have is not some faith that came along lately but the very same faith that the apostles had. And it gives you that power to do any and everything they did through Christ Jesus. “Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and our Lord Jesus according as His power hath given unto us all things that pertain to life and Godliness through the knowledge of Him…”

It says, “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature of God, having escaped the corruption of the world.” Imagine that … having the ability to participate in the divine nature of God.

Well, what is that? It’s His ways, and it’s when you start picking up God’s ways – God’s ways of thinking – and lifting your eyes up off of the earthly things and keeping your eye on heavenly things. A way of responding. When people talk to you that you get that gentleness about you and that you get the way of God about you, that graciousness. And that “grace” is such a beautiful word and it belongs to those that have come into the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

If you get into that understanding of who God is and what He’s about, you’ll get into His ways of doing things and ways of behaving. Let’s go to another verse that will help with that – Proverbs 27:17 from The Complete Jewish  Bible: “Just as iron sharpens iron, a person sharpens the character of his friend.”

As you have relationship with God, just like iron sharpens iron, your walk with God, your daily walk with Him, your conversations with Him. And you know I thank God for formal prayer. You have a time in the morning that’s your prayer time and at night. But I like that constant through the day just continuously walking and talking with God. And as you do, that glory is coming too because now from glory unto glory as iron sharpens iron and the character inside of you starts being like the nature and the character of our great God in heaven.

Of course, the greatest illustration of that is the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And walking the way He would have us walk. I thank God that we have that ability to take on that divine nature.

I just love it that I came into the studio and everybody was like, “Hello! How are you? How was your day? Did you have a good night?” A lot of places you go it’s very abrupt and very harsh. But when you have the divine nature showing even in a place of business or like a place like this wonderful studio I’m in right now – that nature – I feel it as I walk through the door that there are people here that walk and talk with Jesus on a continual basis.

We’ll be back with you again. Thank you!
